Monday 2/27/12 -Dana fine. Took one of the tubes out today. Other tube maybe Wednesday. Pain
IV coming out Tuesday. May be able to come home on Wednesday or Thursday.
Walked one mile today. Not on oxygen anymore. Oxygen level at 92%.

Sunday 2/26/12 - Dana was feeling good Sunday, he had been walking laps before i got there, he was in some pain Saturday night but overall doing good...

Wednesday 2/22/12  -   Dana is out of surgery and the surgery went VERY WELL! His doctor was able to remove all of the pleural lining with ease and is 99% sure that he got it all. The doctor also hopes that there will be no need for radiation.

Please keep Dana Reed in your thoughts and prayers today (and in the coming weeks) as he undergoes surgery to treat his mesothelioma.  Dana was originally scheduled to have his right lung removed in a surgery scheduled for Thursday February 23rd.   After tests early this week  revealed no cancer in his lungs the doctors decided to do a pleurectomy -decortication instead.  What this means is that they will remove the pleural cavity surrounding the right lung but not the lung itself. This surgery is less invasive but still a serious surgery with an extended recovery.
